In this article, we’ll address some of the most common excuses for not exercising and what you can do to overcome them.
1. I’m embarrassed to have other people look at me when I’m out of shape.
Don’t be embarrassed to be out of shape. No one is born an athlete: everyone has to start at the beginning and work towards physical fitness. People admire those who are exercising no matter what their level of fitness is.
2. I don’t have the time. No one has the time. You have to make the time. Human beings used to spend the majority of their time hunting and gathering food all day. Our bodies were designed to move. The least you can do is spend some time moving your body each and every day. 3. It is too physically painful and exhausting. You have to start slow and work your way up. In the beginning you should be able to carry on a conversation while you exercise without losing your breath. . Over time, your body will adapt to your exercise program and you will actually feel tired and unhealthy when you miss a day of exercise. |

4. I’ve tried it before and can’t seem to stick with it.
You will follow through this time because you have an exercise program to give you structure and a weight loss counselor to keep you accountable. The only way you can fail is if you stop trying.
5. I think exercise is a waste of time.
Exercise is essential to health and being at your ideal weight. If you don’t exercise at all, consider that you’re shortchanging your health and will never enjoy being the best you can be.
