Color is Good
Yesterday I went to the doctor for my yearly physical. My blood pressure was high, my cholesterol was high,
I’d gained some weight, and I didn’t feel so hot.
My doctor said eating right doesn’t have to
be complicated and it would solve my physical
problems. He said just think in colors...
Fill your plate with bright colors... greens,
yellows, reds, etc.
I went right home and ate an
entire bowl of :
And sure enough, I felt better immediately.
I never knew eating right could be so easy.
Dr. Pearsall’s Comment:
It’s true, M& Ms can make you feel better temporarily as sugar can produce the same chemicals in your brain as opium! But it’s just a quick fix. What goes up, must come down and every sugar high is followed by a crash—leaving you hungry, irritable and craving more sugar—just like a crack addict.
I guarantee you that this woman’s health problems are directly related to her sugar addiction and she would not have to go to the doctor if she got the sugar out of her diet.
As a former sugar addict, I can attest how difficult it can be to try to give up sugar. But it is amazing once you go through the withdrawal stage, how you stop craving sweets after a few weeks of not eating them.
