Endocrine Disruptors and Natural Weight Loss Detox
Endocrine disruptors are chemical toxins that cause problems in the endocrine system by mimicing our natural hormones.
New research is uncovering the link between chemical toxins such as endocrine disruptors and obesity. Research suggests that toxins such as endocrine disruptors are contributing to the creation of new fat and also to fat that is difficult to lose.
This is because, when our body encounters a toxin that it can’t get rid of, it stores it in a safe place where it will do a minimal amount of damage to our vital tissues and that safe place is fat. This means that, the more toxic your body is, the more fat your body needs to hold on to in order to store those toxins.
Endocrine disruptors, cause your body to form new fat tissue. Your endocrine system is your hormone producer, so it makes sense that toxins that change the way your body makes hormones would also change the way you process and generate fat.
Endocrine disruptors include chemicals used in pesticides and herbicides; ‘placticisers’ – used to make soft plastics, phthalates (also found in soft plastics), and organohalids (which include bromonated flour and chlorine bleach when used in the household).
We are all exposed to these chemicals from the pesticides in fruits and vegetables, and therefore we all need to do a natural weight loss detox program to periodically detoxify one’s body from these chemicals. This especially applies to those people with extra fat, because extra fat means extra toxins that may be stored in the body.
Doing a safe, natural weight loss detox can jump start your natural weight loss by removing the endrocrine disruptors that create new fat cells and prevent you from losing fat.
A weight loss detox may include the following:
1. Avoidance of chemicals.
Examples include:
a. Eating organic foods (meat and produce).
b. Using green cleaners for the home instead of toxic chemicals.
c. Using glass or stainless steel instead of plastic.
d. Using a water filter, air filter.
2. Removal of chemicals from your body.
Examples include:
a. Infared sauna therapy to induce sweating.
b. Liver and colon cleanse supplements.
c. Enemas and colonics.
d. Skin brushing.
e. Juice and broth fasting.
f. Fiber supplements to increase bowel elimination.
There is a great deal of information on the internet on how to detoxify your body using the above methods. Naturopathic physicians recommend a quarterly weight loss detox to get rid of toxin accumulation and improve the GI tract and prime your body for efficient and effective weight loss.
