How many servings does this make?

Also, the Turkey wraps calls for 6 lettuce leaves. Do you have 3 for breakfast and 3 for the second half or is this 6 servings?

How many servings will the recipie for the antipasto plate make?

Do I assume 6-8 servings for all recipies?

Thanks

shopping list problems

Karen,
I really wish I had way to solve this for you, but I am not sure I do, esp. not at this time. I would use the shopping list for reference and follow it for you, but I would not double everything esp. if certain items are expensive...I think you will have to use your intuition for the time being to buy enough food, but I do not want to see you spending far above your budget- that will create unwanted stress.
Remember that the goal is to have enough food on hand at all times so that you can always have something healthy and delicious to eat when you are hungry. We make the serving sizes larger to allow for small mini meals and leftovers so you don't always have to cook a meal, but if yoiur family is larger and you are not coming up with leftovers for a recipe that says 6-8 servings you are obviously going to have to adjust. But certainly don't adjust by buying more specialty items- just substitute with more basic items that are less expensive but still nutritious. I hope this helps,

Serving size

Dr. Winnie Abramson,

I am asking these questions so I can figure out how much to buy for my family. For instance I know if a recipie calls for 6 servings then if my whole family is eating that meal and I want leftovers then I would probably need to double the recipie for future meals. I think I personally am doing fine on portions it's more to make up a grocery list for shopping. It's really hard to tell how much to buy without this information. Last week I spent around $250 for groceries and so far I did pretty well not buying too much, but this week the menu has alot of expensive items and I am anticipating an even higher grocery bill. So if I know a serving size, hopefully I can buy the right amount and not waste any.

The antipasto plate is for dinner one night, but I have NOOO idea what to expect for a typical serving size, so do I double for a family and if I do, then 2 jars of artichokes and 2-4 jars roasted peppers...gets really expensive for just one meal.

The grocery lists don't help me as I need to adjust for everyone in my family and it takes alot of time to try to figure out. So when I am asking for serving sizes, I am really hoping to get a good idea of how much to buy.

All this being said, can you tell me how many servings the antipasto plate makes and what do you expect a serving of the turkey wraps are? Do I assume 6-8 servings for each recipie?

Thank you so much for all your help, I am really liking the change. My sugar cravings are almost nill and that is really a blessing. Now if I could only get a handle on this shopping thing.......

green salad

The serving size should be listed but perhaps it was omitted?
You should figure 1 cups of greens (plus the additions) per serving. So all salads should be about 8 servings (8 mini-meals) total. If you are not using the mini-meal system, then the salads will be more like 4 servings. Since veges are unlimited for the most part, don't worry too much about being completely exact with this. Its more important to pay attention to the amounts of carbs and protein, and make sure you have plenty of the right fats.
